 Welcome to Good Shepherd School!

October 29, 2009

Good Shepherd School Families:

This is a very exciting time at Good Shepherd School. We are working hard in the classroom but still taking time to have fun and enjoy our last year in our current facility.
The students and staff are cherishing the comfort level involved in being in familiar surroundings.

As we plan for the 2010-2011 school year there is an air of excitement heightened by anticipation of the changes to come. The numerous opportunities for growth and improvement are incredible. As our parish and school enter into this era of transition many decisions will be made to provide the best arrangements for the students of Good Shepherd School.

In anticipation of these changes, I would like to share with you what I know so far. Father Charles will be sharing more details in the next few weeks. The entire school will be moving to the Leestown Road property. We will have use of the parish life center but will also require temporary structures. The transition team is working on how to best utilize the PLC to the fullest extent while also investigating the options with temporary structures. During the 2004-2005 school year, I had the opportunity to teach in the temporary units at Elkhorn Middle School. I can tell you it was a very good teaching situation. I am not hesitant about my sons possibly attending school in such units.

In order to accurately plan for next year, we are running our early registration period from November 1st until December 15th. Those registering during this time period are guaranteed a freeze on tuition and fees for the 2010-2011 school year. I’m asking all families to prayerfully consider pre-registering their children during this enrollment period.

After gathering the pre-enrollment data, the school board will work with the finance council to set the budget with tuition and fee rates for the 2010-2011 school year. Anyone registering after December 15th will be subject to the tuition and fee rates reflected in the 2010-2011 school year budget.

Attached is the registration form. Please complete and return with your $100 registration fee by December 15th. A tuition contract will immediately follow for you to sign and return by January 15th.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. My email address is dpack@gssfrankfort.org. The school phone number is 223-5041 ext 233 and my cell phone number is 229-7514.

Prayerfully,

Debra T. Pack, Principal
